Mr. Hamid Javed

Knife attack · injuredLathianwala, Faisalabad

Mr. Hamid Javed was injured in a knife attack near his home in Lathianwala, Faisalabad. According to the community’s account, the attacker first asked him whether he was a “Qadiani” and stabbed him after he confirmed his faith, causing serious injuries. The community regards the attack as religiously motivated; the police report did not establish the motive.

Mr. Malik Mahmood Mubarak and Mr. Ayaz Mubarak

Sargodha

Malik Mahmood Mubarak (70) and his son Ayaz Mubarak (40) were shot while travelling home from work, when an unidentified motorcyclist opened fire near a private college in Sargodha. Both survived; they were taken to hospital and later referred to Lahore because of the seriousness of their injuries. A First Information Report was registered the following day. The attackers fled on an unregistered motorcycle.

Mr. Naghman Ahmad

Lalian, Chiniot

Mr. Naghman Ahmad, appointed by the Punjab Land Records Authority as Assistant Director Land Records in Lalian, faced a public campaign by Khatm-e-Nabuwwat groups, who called him a “Qadiani” and threatened wider protests unless he was transferred. On 8 August 2026 the Authority ordered him to report to its headquarters with immediate effect and gave another official charge of the post. The order gave no reason; the campaigners celebrated it as their success.

Funeral obstructed

Funeral Rites Obstructed by Police

Badin, Sindh

IHRC reported two separate incidents in which police in Badin District interfered with the funeral and mourning arrangements of deceased Ahmadis, reportedly under pressure from extremist clerics. The families were prevented from carrying out funeral-related religious practices without intimidation or interference. The exact dates of the two incidents were not given.

Human Rights and Freedom of Religion: Ahmadis in Pakistan

Our Department of External Affairs has reviewed the incidents reported against Ahmadis in Pakistan from January to September 2026. The report shows that a quieter start to the year did not mean things had improved: the laws and practices behind the persecution stayed in force and were used against Ahmadis throughout the year.

  • Worship and Eid. Eid prayers were stopped or restricted in several districts, and at Eid-ul-Adha Ahmadis faced police action, undertakings and detentions, even in private homes.
  • Mosques and burial. Minarets were demolished, a prayer centre was ordered closed during Friday prayers, graves were desecrated and burials and funerals were obstructed.
  • Law and violence. Criminal cases under the anti-Ahmadi laws, organised hate campaigns and serious violence continued, including the killing of Safdar Mahmood in Mandi Bahauddin in September.

Our Founder, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, inspired early followers with his prophetic vision, which emphasized reform, compassion, and a non-violent approach to conflict.
